Overview

The objective of this project is to modernize the old WPA Health poster in a way that effectively appeals to the present-day audience.

Key factors that must be taken into account include messaging, design elements, and overall aesthetics, with the goal of inspiring the target audience to take the necessary preventative measures against the disease.

To achieve this, it is imperative that careful consideration is given to the language and visual elements used in the redesign process. The end product must maintain the original intent of the poster

Design Process

1.Choosing the Original Poster

Diphtheria is a potentially fatal respiratory illness caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheriae. The disease primarily affects children, and it is still a significant health concern across the world. However, with timely and appropriate vaccination, we can prevent ourselves from getting infected by the bacterium. As part of my Project to promote public health, I have decided to take up the task of redesigning an old WPA Health poster that raises awareness about the importance of Diphtheria vaccination.

2.Secondary Research

My research was focused on gathering comprehensive information about the toxoid vaccine and its latest recommended vaccine schedule for children in the pediatric age group. I aimed to include all relevant details in my findings and present them in a clear and informative manner that would be appropriate for the Poster.

4.Final Poster Design

[Tool - Adobe Illustrator]

Although the original poster's message is commendable, it lacked information about the toxoid vaccine, such as its vaccination schedule. The illustration in the original poster was unappealing, so I redesigned it to be more suitable and informative.

My focus was on providing readers with information about the toxoid vaccination schedules and recommended doses required to combat the disease. I also ensured that the information was easy to read and understand by using a limited color palette, choosing soothing colors, and presenting the text in a trustworthy manner.
